How to determine if a lamp is still hot, if you're not sure which breaker to trip?
I have three light fixtures in my home, but the label in my circuit breaker box is not far. Is it possible to use a continuity tester? I feel that I know the light that may have caused this I can not work on it until I know that electricity has been cut. (none of my waves have soared since the lights stopped working.)
If your really paranoid about whether an appliance is hot or not you can pick up a simple non-contact voltage detector at any repair shop housing. A note you should always test these in a live circuit first before use. Not always as precise as a volt-ohm meter.
