Electricity Detector 7 Electricity Detector

What should I look for in a metal detector?

If you are planning to buy a metal detector, you should check the performance of each one before buying one. Metal detecting is a fun hobby, but with the wrong equipment can cost you time and money.

When buying a metal detector account the price. If the metal detector offers the best features of a continuation, we hope to be expensive. If you have fewer features is well with you, go by one less expensive. Metal detectors can run from a minimum of $ 50 to over $ 400.

Some metal detectors use BFO (Beat frequent oscillation). This technology consists of two coils of wire. The two coils are represented by two wires that is the big and small. The large coil can be found in the coil detector search, while the small coil is in the System Control Pack. The coils are connected to an oscillator which produces pulses of current. The pulse passes through the coils in order to generate radio waves.

A receiver within the System Control Pack receives the radio waves doing to make a series tones based on frequencies from radio waves. Once the detector coil encounters a coin or any metal object is surrounded by a magnetic field causing interference with frequency. The tone produced by the receiver is changed. In choosing the best detectors, you should choose those with BFO. This technology is easier to use and cheaper to own.

Metal detectors using PI (Pulse Induction) technology often makes use of a single coil or even a series of coils that functions as a receiver and transmitter. The short bursts of electricity are allowed to pass through a coil of wire or which causes magnetism. The magnetic field will reverse its polarity if the bursts of electrical current stops.

More pulses are created when you create sharp electrical spike. Then the whole process will repeat and works like a series of echoes, giving a different report which depends on the metal it has encountered. Hence, this type of detector is not ideal for discriminating between different types of metals or coins. This is appropriate for use in areas where salt water and metals can be detected.

VLF (Very Low Frequency) is a metal detector with two search coils. The two coils are the "transmitter coil" which rapidly transmitting electricity and the other coil known as the coil of "receiver". The activity of this coil is already implicit in its name. It is responsible for receiving frequencies that bounce off the object listening for the coil. This type of detector is best for the identification of different types of metals.

Now that you've learned the three different types of metal detectors, it's up to you to make your choice as to which type of detector to use for your searches.
