Can I connect a computer via an extension cord?

Sorry if a bit vague … I do not know much about electricity and blew a circuit, and now my computer is not working, but it's plugged in via an extension cable. Is it safe? Any help is appreciated.

If it blew a circuit and the computer is not protected with a special extension cord with a surge protector, your computer could be a hose. However, if your computer is connected to a surge protector, make sure it is in the on position as a power surge may have triggered the switch in it.
